6th Annual Outer Banks SPCA Awareness Photo Contest
This Annual photo contest is open to ALL Pampered Pets with a photo taken on The Outer Banks. Please see details at pamperedpetsguide.com. Our annual publication runs from May – May so the deadline each year is April 1st. If you miss the deadline your entry will go into the next years contest.

Manteo Farmer’s Market
George Washington Creef Park on the Manteo Waterfront. Open May 16 – August 22 (Saturdays) from 8am – 12pm. Rain or Shine. Where all the cool cows buy their flowers, herbs and pies! For more information visit townofmanteo.com

72nd Anniversary Season of The Lost Colony
Waterside Theatre. Monday – Saturday at 8 p.m. (no performance on July 4, 11, 18, or August 8, 15). Compelling unsolved mystery of America’s beginnings. Featuring music, dance, drama, riveting action, and special effects with lavish costumes and sets. Children 11 and under are free on Monday and Friday and half price on Saturday with a paying adult. Backstage Tours of The Lost Colony
Waterside Theatre. 6 p.m. During this 45-minute walking tour you’ll see how The Lost Colony’s stage is transformed right before your eyes and learn other "tricks of the trade" while visiting the theatre, costume shop, and props areas. 2009 Triple-S Invitational
The Triple- S Invitational is the international free ride “world championships” of kiteboarding. 2009 marks the 4th year of the Triple-S Invitational, after three extremely successful Triple-S events, this has become a highly anticipated event on the pro kiteboarding calendar. Evening racing at Nor’banks Sailing in Duck
Monday Evenings in June,July and August. Evening racing takes place at Nor’Banks Sailing in Duck. Racing begins 2 hours before Sunset and all small sailboats are welcome. Come and charter a boat or bring your own and participate in some very casual "beer can" races on the water behind Nor’Banks Sailing in Duck. For more information call Jon Britt at 252-202-6880.

Porch Programs – Chicamacomico Lifesaving Station
All programs run June, July and August at 2:00 pm at 1911 Station, except Beach Apparatus Drill which starts at the 1874 Station. All programs last about one hour. All are free with regular paid admission for self-guided tour of 7 acre, 8 building site.
